Tearfund and Cord have joined forces to encourage those of us who enjoy good sanitation and clean drinking water to 'twin' our loos with one of the 2.5 billion people (40% of the world's population) who don't have access to such facilities. We've signed up! The charity explains:
'Toilet Twinning is raising funds to enable people living in poor communities to have clean water, a decent toilet, and to learn about hygiene – a vital combination that prevents the spread of disease, reduces the number of deaths among children, and brings hope for the future.'
Here's a shot of our loo and our twin in Mungara, Uganda. Find out more and how you can loo-twin too here
